Here is the issue - Gm Trucks and Utilities built from 2001 - through 2007 have an under designed high blower circuit that as a result gets very hot at the connection terminal at the Blower Motor Resistor.

The result is burnished terminals and melted connectors like one pictured here on the left. Usually when this occurs, it also damages the Blower Motor Resistor as well by burning the terminal and melting the plastic housing on the resistor like the one pictured below. If this is the case, you need to replace both components.
