There are THREE options for resistors in the Chevrolet and GMC Full Size Trucks
and Utilities with A/C - THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT IS THIS. The resistor in your
truck will have 1 hole in each mounting flange (Figure 1)
or Two holes in each mounting flange (Figure 2). If your
vehicle has automatic Air Conditioning option (CJ2) you need the kit in (figure
3) below.
The
chart below is supplied by General Motors and is pretty accurate by
RPO CODE, HOWEVER we
have found a few exceptions and even GM can't explain it when we called GM -
Service Parts Operations in Flint, MI to see if they knew the problem. TO BE
SURE, remove three 7mm screws that hold the closeout panel under
the right side of the dash and look at the resistor just to be 100% sure before you
order.

A/C FRT MAN/AUX CONTROL(CJ3) Without
RPO CUSTOM F/CMPT FLR CNSL(D07) MAY
REQUIRE DISCARDING OF OE RESISTOR MOUNTING PLATE & MOUNTING
NEW RESISTOR DIRECTLY TO CASE.
To find out if your truck has these options, Look at the RPO (Regular
Production Options) code sticker on the inside of the glove box. The
sticker tells you every single factory installed option on your
truck when it was built. IF the sticker has
(CJ3) and (C42) but not (DO7) order the kit in figure 2.
Otherwise order the kit in Figure 1.
If your vehicle has Automatic Air Conditioning
(CJ2) This is the kit you need.
This kit comes with the blower motor control module, replacement
connector and Shrink Butt connectors to install the connector.

Figure 3
This is the RPO sticker that you will find in the glove box of your
GM vehicle. In this example, the vehicle has CJ3 but not D07, so you
would order the kit in Figure 2 above.
You can always remove three 7mm
screws that hold the closeout panel under the right side of the dash
and look at the resistor as well just to be 100% sure before you
order.
